As we start to finalise our marketing plans and budget for next year it was really encouraging to visit such a well-attended event this month, the Peerless “A New AV Experience” event at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Not only was this buoyant event a sign of the AV industry’s continued bounce back from the downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but also an indicator that the events and exhibitions sector are very much back in business after 18 months of toil.

Peerless had obviously worked incredibly hard to ensure the event was well attended and it was encouraging to see our partners, Tripleplay and Datapath, so busy all day. Many attendees were more than happy to shake hands, embrace or maybe just bump fists or elbows – but there was always respect for the individual’s personal choice of greeting.

Exhibitions are an important opportunity for onemedia to showcase our latest products and solutions to both current and prospective customers and they also offer an invaluable chance to network with our AV Industry peers. Events are also a big commitment both in terms of the cost to attend but also the time consumed before, during and after the event for our team who are already very busy.

Although there will no doubt be some more turbulence in the months ahead as we navigate through the tail end (we hope!) of the pandemic we are feeling optimistic about our return to exhibitions – starting with supporting our new partner Ubiqisense at the Smart Buildings Show at ExCeL in October.

Before we know it, it will be time for the AV Industry’s annual pilgrimage to ISE in February, this time in its new home in Barcelona. This event could prove to be even more pivotal than usual, as the AV industry continues its resurgence.
