2021 saw us acquire Red Solutions Limited as part of our long-term strategy to merge the businesses to become a specialist distributor of AV solutions with a professional services division of creative, technical, training and support.
With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting many businesses and organisations, both ourselves, our customers and partners have all had to work on strategies to adapt to the natural challenges the pandemic has introduced. Whilst many articles I’ve read, including Forbes, suggest mergers & acquisitions globally has plummeted during the pandemic, in our industry we’ve seen a healthy number, many of which have likely done so for similar reasons to us.
Onemedia had been planning the merger for some time, fortunate not to experience as heavy a downturn as others, the pandemic created a unique timing opportunity for our merger to happen.
Working closely together with Red Solutions for many years, expediting the merger allowed onemedia to focus on our top-level objectives:
- Implementing cost efficiency strategies and reducing the cross-company administration
- Enhancing our portfolio of products and solutions to complement existing and new installations for customers
- Improving and growing vendor relationships with additional resource and technical expertise
We’re only at the start of the journey as the combined company, but already have taken on additional resource in internal sales, accountancy, and development departments and made new partnerships with Pronestor and Ubiqisense in the workplace sector.
So far, we’re really on track and if anything have exceeded our initial strategy. Merging has allowed us to focus on fine-tuning the business to expand and enhance our offering. I believe we’ve really taken the opportunity during an uncertain time. Now the merger is complete, the company’s focused objectives will benefit our partners and customers, and I look forward to working with them all, this year ahead and beyond, on some great projects we have in the pipeline.
