The Financial Times return to Bracken House complete with first class digital signage solution
The Financial Times is one of the world’s leading news organisations, recognised internationally for its authority, integrity and accuracy. It is part of Nikkei Inc., which provides a broad range of information, news and services for the global business community.
The Financial Times returned to their former home, Bracken House, in the City of London following an extensive refurbishment. Bracken House was originally built in 1958 as their headquarters and was home to their printing presses before they vacated in the 80s and moved to Southwark. Following the success of their digital transformation, the business was able to move back to the historic location. The refurbishment included a complete technology overhaul with a substantial digital signage network.
Project objectives
The FT required an enterprise-level digital signage platform that provided depth of functionality and chose ONELAN as a robust, flexible and scalable solution that was compatible with their IPTV system. The platform would also be used to show messages, news and updates in relevant areas of the business. Working closely with integrator Pro AV, onemedia were asked to design bespoke on-brand screen layouts and an interactive wayfinding solution.
Project delivery using ONELAN platform
The chosen screen layout designs incorporate onemedia’s popular social media, travel and weather apps as well as main areas to display their distinctive video and image content. Based in the heart of the city, the scheduling of the travel information apps is particularly useful to staff leaving the office at the end of the day enabling them to plan their journey home. Interactive wayfinders were delivered for each floor of the building, directing staff and visitors to departments, facilities and meeting rooms. ONELAN Net Top Boxes deliver the content to over 100 screens including impressive video walls in the building’s atrium and restaurant with the content managed centrally via the ONELAN CMS.
The signage solution and designs have been rolled out to offices in Hong Kong with further global sites expected to be included in the future. Ongoing support from onemedia offers reassurance that any changes, updates or training requirements are covered and any issues can be swiftly resolved.
